What Pilgrims Are Saying
Words from those who Walk in Hildegard of Bingen’s Footsteps

“I was moved to tears sitting under the canopy of the night sky at Disibodenberg listening to the concert, the very place Hildegard had composed music for the angels. Being at those sacred grounds at the Abby of Disibodenberg filled me with a deep sense of her presence. …The depth of my pilgrimage continues to sink deeper and deeper into my soul. Hildegard has planted a seed that will continue to grow throughout my life. I will be forever grateful to you, Michael and Heather, for being such wonderful leaders who made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The personal connection with the group made all the difference. Thank you for making our pilgrimage such a memorable and holy experience.”

“As I sat quietly in the small Protestant church in Niederhosenbach, I couldn’t help but notice how similar it is to the small community church that I grew up and attended as child. We were able to see the facsimile edition of Hildegard’s Liber Scivias, it was open the page of her famous mandala, “The Trinity”, and then we listening to some of her music. It sent my heart soaring. Our afternoon continued with a spectacular walk through the rolling farm fields and forests until we reached the pretty village of Herrstein. On this day especially, I felt a deep connection with Hildegard’s childhood and journey. “

“I loved making the trek, and would love to do again and really live it more fully. I have so many lovely memories of the walk, and my spiritual life has been so blessed by being around other Hildegard followers.”

“Last September, I joined the St Hildegard Pilgrimage with much curiosity and anticipation. I had known of her musical works for 30+ years, but not much about the rest of her life or her other contributions. What a treasury of discoveries I was in for! And any reservations I may have had about the rigorous hiking were quickly dispelled. Most days (though not all, of course), our foot travel was peaceful, contemplative, and at a pace that allowed for full appreciation of the beautiful Rhine valley. I strongly recommend this trip for anyone who loves history, nature, and spiritual contemplation.”
